Every student who completed her schooling at Shelford is automatically a Shelfordian.
Stay Connected to the Community
We warmly invite our past students to attend reunions and check out the latest Shelfordian news via this website and by connecting with us on social media. Keep your contact details up-to-date, and you will receive relevant communications via email. We are very proud of our Shelford Alumnae, and everyone loves to hear of special achievements and news.
Dear Shelford Alumnae,
I’m Karen Boyd-Jones, President of the newly formed Shelford Girls’ Grammar Alumnae Association (Incorporated). On behalf of the Committee, I warmly welcome you to the Association.
Our Executive Committee is comprised of:
President: Karen Boyd-Jones (1974)
Vice President: Lyndy Clarke (1972)
Secretary: Jenni Masters (1977)
Treasurer: Robyn Young (1978)
We are also supported by sub-committees for Reunions and Social Media.
I’d like to share an update on what the Committee has been doing since the closure of our beloved School.
Following the School’s email last July seeking alumnae’s views on whether to integrate with or affiliate with the Caulfield Grammar Alumni Association, the overwhelming response favoured affiliation. This path enables us to maintain greater independence, financial autonomy, and the ability to organise our own reunions.
Since then, we have:
- Formed the Committee
- Finalised our Constitution
- Signed a Memorandum of Association with the Caulfield Grammar Association
We’re deeply grateful to Caulfield Grammar and the CGA for their generosity and support during this process.
To formalise our affiliation, we became incorporated and have successfully registered for an ABN and TFN. We are now working to establish bank accounts, secure insurance, and implement a ticketing platform for events.
In the meantime, we’re committed to hosting reunions and events that allow us to stay connected, honour Shelford’s legacy, and support each other. Our shared history, spirit, and educational foundation are worth preserving—and the best way to do that is by staying in touch.
Upcoming events may include a Spring Cocktail Party or Cup Eve Drinks—we’d love to hear which you’d prefer!
So far, we’ve held:
- A Committee Welcome Dinner
- The 1985 40-Year Reunion
- A combined 2020 & 2025 Reunion, acknowledging their unique challenges—COVID disruptions, the School’s closure, and the sudden need for 2025s to find new Year 12 placements. These girls showed tremendous resilience, and we applaud them.
- A Staff Reunion
Next on the calendar is the 2015 10-Year Reunion.
We’re looking for Year Representatives to act as a liaison between your graduating year and the Association. Please get in touch if you’re interested—or if you know someone who should be receiving our emails but isn’t.
A brief update on the School itself:
The grounds are being well cared for, and the interiors remain largely intact, with displays and artwork still in place, just as if the School had paused, not ended. The gardens and lawn are resplendent. Caulfield Grammar has begun repainting the exterior and interior of key buildings, including the Hall, which is temporarily unavailable for our use.
The campus will house Years 4–6 and serve as a Centre for Innovation for all Caulfield Grammar campuses.
If you have questions, ideas, or would like to help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Dr Karen Boyd-Jones
President
